Brown Dog Tick
These are similar to the American Dog Ticks, but they are unique in colour. Their major target is dogs, which can spread deadly tick-borne diseases like rocky mountain fever, canine ehrlichiosis, and canine babesia. They will bite humans in the absence of canines and cause severe skin allergies.
Lone Star Tick
Lone Star Tick is famous for the single spot in its back, but it can be found only in female ticks. These ticks will target humans more than any other tick species. They are the vectors of many diseases like Heartland Virus, Bourbon Virus, tularaemia, and Southern Tick Associated Rash Illness (STARI).
Rocky Mountain Wood Tick
The Rocky Mountain Wood Ticks are found near the rocky mountain areas and also feed in wood. They are the major cause of rocky mountain spotted fever, which is a deadly disease if untreated.
